The Canada-based son of the music maestro Dr Bhupen Hazarika pulls up his sleeves to own his father’s evergreen assets. These include the epoch-making films and songs along with the touching literary works of his father. This was what Tez told Prime News on Saturday. He is keen to get a glimpse of his father’s evergreen films Era Bator Hur, Chameli Mem Sab and others wherein his father’s baritone voice took the people by storm.

A group of renowned people has come forward to help Tez Hazarika get his father’s works. They include noted cultural activist Jayanta Sarma who has handed over Tez a magazine his father edited during his days in Benaras Hindu University in 1945. This is apart from a few original songs the legendary music maestro.

Tez said that he would preserve his father’s works with the help of state-of-the-art technology in Canada. Tez Hazarika’s efforts to take away his father’s works assumes significance at a time when Dr Hazarika’s long time partner Kalpana Lajmi also pledged to preserve the epoch-making songs and films of the Dada Saheb Phalke award wining film maker and Asom Ratna.
