Releasing a music album Bidai which is a tribute to Dr Bhupen Hazarika today at a function held at the Guwahati Press Club here, Tez Hazarika said that the songs of his father have succeeded in inspiring all sections of the society with positive thoughts and that the need of the hour was to initiate the necessary steps to usher in the positive developments the society is waiting for.

Tez, who was accompanied by his mother Priyambada Hazarika, said that he was in touch with certain people to fulfil the dreams of his father through the trust. Deka informed that twenty percent of the proceeds from the music album will go to the proposed trust of Tez Hazarika.
“This is just my humble tribute to the cultural icon whose music touched the hearts of all who listened to it,” said Deka.

Speaking both in English and Assamese, Priyambada Hazarika expressed her happiness to be in Assam after a long time. She paid tribute to her late spouse by lighting a candle before the portrait of Dr Bhupen Hazarika. “Thank you everyone. I love Assam and happy to be here,” she said.
